Masterclass in a Place Full of Memories｜At the Sapporo Conservatoire
On July 27, I held a masterclass at my alma mater, the Sapporo Conservatoire.
It was a great joy for me to share music again in the same place where I used to take lessons as a child.

I returned to Japan at the end of June, and before I knew it, a whole month had flown by.
It’s been a fulfilling time – from judging piano competitions and giving lessons in Tokyo, to reconnecting with people I hadn’t seen in a long time, and even enjoying morning swims during my stay in Sapporo.
I’ve put together a short video capturing a few special moments from my days in the Kanto region. These include my time judging for PTNA (the Piano Teachers’ National Association of Japan) and reuniting with a lifelong friend — moments that were both meaningful and emotional for me.

125th Anniversary of Alfredo Keil’s Birth
We’re updating the website to share a recent video of Alfredo Keil’s music.
July 3rd marks the birthday of the Portuguese composer Alfredo Keil (1850–1907), and this year is the 175th anniversary of his birth.
To mark this occasion, I am delighted to share with you a video of Keil’s Pays des fleurs (Land of Flowers), which I performed as an encore at my recital in Sapporo earlier this year.

[Sapporo Recital – Thank You!] Behind-the-Scenes Video Now Available !
On Friday, April 18, 2024, I had the great pleasure of performing a solo recital at Sapporo Concert Hall Kitara for the first time in 15 years.
Although same-day tickets were initially planned, all seats were sold out in advance, and we had to cancel on-the-day sales due to overwhelming demand. Honestly, I was quite anxious about how many people would come, but the warmth that filled the hall even before the concert started moved me deeply—I was in tears.
Thanks to the generous support of Yamaha, I was able to perform on their magnificent CFX piano under ideal conditions. After completing all concerts since early March without incident, I was especially glad to finish this series with a performance in Sapporo that I could personally feel satisfied with.
For the encore, I was joined by my partner Ricardo in a four-hands performance, making it a truly special moment to share with the audience.

The other day, I gave a recital in a small theatre on the Île Saint-Louis in Paris.
It turned out to be a very warm and wonderful evening, with former students I hadn't seen in years, current students, friends, and acquaintances coming to see me.
I was especially moved that a friend even came all the way from Toulouse!

I’m thrilled to announce my upcoming recital on Friday, April 11 at 6:30 PM, at Théâtre de l’Île Saint-Louis – a venue I’ll be performing at for the very first time.
I’m very excited to discover how the music will resonate in this beautiful space, and of course, I look forward to seeing you there !

We began our journey in a city in western China, not far from Myanmar and Laos, and then moved south and west. This tour in China will remain an unforgettable memory for us! We had the privilege of performing in stunning venues and were welcomed by warm and enthusiastic audiences. We concluded the tour on a high note and would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who supported us.
